Honourable Mention in Celia Rosser Award 2024

I’m humbled to be awarded an Honourable mention in the Celia Rosser Award for 2024 at The Art of Botanical Illustration by the Friends of the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne from such a high quality field. Selected for The Art of Botanical Illustration 2024

I’m delighted to have 3 drawings selected for the prestigious TABI exhibition, hosted biennially by the Friends of the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne. The exhibition will open in person from 10am-4pm on 28 September 2024 at Domain House, adjacent to the Botanic Gardens in Dallas Brooks Drive. If you can’t make it to Melbourne you can see all the work online here while the exhibition is open.

I’m pleased to have my Waratah drawing selected for this prize exhibition in 2024. It is exhibited alongside a wonderful array of artworks from members of the Botanical Art Society of Australia, at Retford Park, Bowral, NSW, from Thursday to Sundays, 19 July to 25 August, 2024. Selected for Plantae 2024

Larger Than Life – my retrospective exhibition

An exhibition of my nature-themed drawings from the last 15 years will be exhibited with ‘Art Expressions @123 Fisher’, Castello’s Cucina Exhibition Space, 123 Fisher Street, Fullarton, SA, from 4 April to 30 May 2024. Come along for the opening 5-6pm on Thursday 4 April! Open to the public 9am-4pm Mon-Sat, 10-4 Sundays, except public holidays.

I am honoured to be invited to join the Society of Botanical Artists (SBA), based in the UK, as a Fellow Member. From the SBA website:

” Established in 1985, by Suzanne Lucas, The Society of Botanical Artists brings together artists of national and international repute.

  • To advance the education of the public by promoting the appreciation of  botanical art
  • To provide facilities for the exhibition of work by artists who practice this genre of art

Finalist in 2023 WAMA Art Prize

My recent drawing of the native Soft Speargrass, Austrostipa mollis, has been selected as a finalist in the 2023 WAMA Art Prize. “The WAMA Art Prize invites a multi-disciplinary range of nature inspired Australian artists, to celebrate their connectivity with nature and raise awareness of the importance of conserving our precious and unique Australian environment. ‘Inflorescent’ Solo Exhibition at SALA 2023

I’m delighted to present my solo exhibition ‘Inflorescent‘ at this year’s SALA Festival. ‘Inflorescent’ will be shown from 4 August – 27 August at Hughes Gallery, Fullarton Park Community Centre, Fullarton, SA. This exhibition is generously supported by the City of Unley, as a result of my selection as a finalist in last year’s SALA City of Unley Active Ageing Award.
